Materials
- 1 cup basmati rice
- 1 onion
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1/4 tsp ground turmeric
- 1 green chilli
- 1.5 cups water
Instructions
- Wash the rice well and leave to dry.
- Melt a little butter in a saucepan with some oil.Chop the onion and fry it lightly until browned.
- Add the whole cumin, turmeric and chopped green chilli and fry for 2 minutes.
- Next, add the rice and fry for a few minutes stirring continuously until the rice is coated in oil.
- Add the water, bring to the boil, then simmer with the lid on for 12 to 15 minutes. Remove the saucepan from the heat, leave it to stand for 5 minutes, then serve.
